The West Fork Gators Freshmen teams faced a tough challenge yesterday against the PNG Indians. While the final scores didn’t go our way, both the Silver and Green teams showed tremendous effort and determination on the field.
For the Silver team lost 30-6, but Ian Yellowe made a standout contribution with an impressive 65 yard touchdown run that energized the offense. On the defensive side, Rafael Barba was a key player, making several critical plays to keep the team in the game.
The Green team fell 28-14, but had several bright spots. Kaden Ferguson electrified the crowd with a kickoff return touchdown, showcasing his speed and agility. Quarterback Jackson Byargeon connected on a beautiful 35-yard touchdown pass to Kason Garcia-Jackson, highlighting the team’s offensive potential. Defensively, Nathan Estrada forced a crucial fumble, and Emmanuel Duran played tough on the edge, consistently applying pressure and making solid tackles.
Though the Gators didn’t come away with the win, these performances demonstrate the talent and heart our players bring each week. We’ll keep working hard to build on these moments as the season continues.
Come out and support the Gators next week as they host the Montgomery Bears!
