The West Fork Gators battled through tough conditions Tuesday night, but ultimately fell to the Patriots of Goose Creek Memorial High School in a hard-fought tennis match.
The Gators showed plenty of fight throughout the evening, with several matches coming down to the wire. In boys doubles, Henry Spurlock and Eli Field battled until the very end, narrowly falling 7-9. On the girls' side, Rebecca Rodriguez and Ruby Spurlock also played a strong match, but came up just short in another close 7-9 finish.
Despite the tough result, the Gators continued to compete with determination while dealing with the challenging heat. The team showed resilience and continued to battle point after point, gaining valuable experience heading into the most important part of the season.
Now, the Gators turn their attention to district play. Next week, West Fork will look to bounce back when they travel to Spring Woods High School to open district competition.
The road to district success starts now, and the Gators are ready to answer the challenge!
