FALL LEAGUE UPDATE - TARKINGTON VS WEST FORK SEPTEMBER 2ND

Fall League update - September 2nd vs Tarkington

West Fork put together two productive innings against Tarkington before the game was called due to weather in the top of the third.

Julio Garcia started on the mound for the Gators, pitching one inning and recording two strikeouts. Catcher Alex Hightower also threw out a runner attempting to steal.

Romualdo Sanchez led off the bottom of the first with a double and stole third. Joel Nora walked and stole second before Garcia reached on an error by the third baseman, allowing two runs to score.

Ethan Simms took the mound in the second inning and recorded two strikeouts. Despite issuing two walks, Simms worked his way out of a two-out jam without allowing a run.

The Gators added to their lead in the bottom of the second. Teaguen Rodriguez walked and stole second, while Hightower and Ben Elizondo also drew walks. David Frias-Vega delivered an RBI infield single, and Sanchez followed with an RBI single. Elijah Martin also reached on a walk before weather ended the game.

The Gators return to action Wednesday when they host MacArthur at 5:30 p.m.
