GATORS FALL TO THE FALCONS IN HARD-FOUGHT OPENER

The West Fork Gators Freshman Silver football team battled from start to finish Wednesday night at Gator Field, but ultimately fell to the Huffman Falcons in a defensive struggle, 8-6.

Leading the Gators' offensive attack was running back Liam Harrington, who provided a spark both on the ground and through the air. Liam consistently found ways to move the football, running hard between the tackles and making himself available as a receiver out of the backfield. His ability to contribute in multiple ways gave the Gators an important offensive weapon throughout the game.

While the Gators' offense fought to put points on the board, the defense continued to make plays and keep West Fork within striking distance.

Outside linebacker Jaylen Rickards was a standout for the Gators on defense. Jaylen was active throughout the game, making key tackles behind the line of scrimmage and creating problems for the Huffman offense. His biggest play of the night came when he stepped in front of a Falcon pass and returned the interception for a touchdown.

Jaylen's pick-six accounted for all six of West Fork's points and gave the Gators a huge momentum boost.

Despite the defensive touchdown, Huffman was able to hold on for the narrow 8-6 victory. The Gators look to bounce back next week against Clear Lake.
