The West Fork Gators 9th Grade Green football team continued its impressive start to the 2026 season Thursday night, traveling on the road and coming away with a dominant 42-7 victory over the Clear Lake Falcons.

With the win, the Gators improved to 2-0 on the season, turning in another strong all-around performance on both sides of the football.

West Fork wasted little time making its presence felt, as Rashard Witherspoon broke loose for two long touchdown runs, providing the Gators with explosive plays and helping set the tone for the offense throughout the night.

The passing game also found the end zone twice, with Jaden Callier hauling in two touchdown passes. Rashard Witherspoon connected with Jaden Callier for one score, while Kyrique Lawrence found Jaden Callier for the other, giving the Gators another dimension offensively and keeping the Clear Lake defense on its heels.

Kyrique Lawrence added to the scoring with a touchdown run of his own, continuing a balanced offensive attack that saw West Fork consistently move the football and capitalize on its opportunities.

The final points of the night came courtesy of the defense, as Aaron Charles intercepted a Clear Lake pass and returned it for a pick-six, putting an exclamation point on a complete team performance.

While the offense produced plenty of highlights, the Gators' defense was equally impressive, limiting the Falcons to just seven points and creating opportunities for the offense throughout the game. West Fork's defensive effort was marked by forcing multiple turnovers, strong tackling, physical play and the ability to make big plays when they mattered most.

The special teams unit also played an important role in the victory, contributing to the Gators' strong field position and overall momentum. The combination of offense, defense and special teams helped West Fork control the game from start to finish.

After two games, the Gators have established itself as a team capable of making plays in every phase of the game. At 2-0, West Fork now heads into its bye week with plenty of momentum and an opportunity to prepare for the next challenge.

Following the bye, the Gators will open district play on the road against Kingwood Park on Wednesday, September 23rd, at 6 p.m.
