9/14 VARSITY VB VS NEW CANEY

It was a special night at the Swamp as we celebrated our three seniors and their contributions to the West Fork Gator Volleyball Program while competing in our third district match against New Caney!

We started the night by recognizing #4 Addisyn Nash, #5 Khloe Lilly, and #11 Kiana Brooks and celebrating everything they have given to our program. We are incredibly proud of these three and grateful for the impact they continue to make on our Gator Family!

The first set was a tone-setter for the night. Tenly Newsom stepped behind the service line and helped the Gators jump out to a 15-0 lead with a 15-serve streak! We carried that momentum through the set and finished 25-8.

New Caney came out fighting in the second set, trading points and battling through long rallies. Once again, Tenly stepped to the service line and helped the Gators regain control as we finished the set 25-15. In the third and final set, our team continued to move as a unit, supporting one another and taking care of their responsibilities to finish the match 25-16.

Offensively, the Gators finished with 33 kills and 8 aces. Kailey Pate and Rylie Scimio led the way with 10 kills each, followed by Khloe Lilly with 8 kills. Defensively, we finished with 49 digs, led by Addison Wilcox with 14 and Tenly Newsom with 10.

With the victory, the Gators completed a CLEAN PROGRAM SWEEP, with all three levels earning wins over New Caney! ???? What a great night for Gator Volleyball!

The Varsity Gators are now 3-0 in district play and will hit the road Friday to face Northbrook. We’re ready to keep building, keep competing, and keep pushing forward!
