FRESHMAN VB @ HUNTSVILLE SUB-VARSITY TOURNAMENT

Our Gators played at Huntsville Highschool for the last sub-varsity tournament of the season. On Day 1, the Gators faced off against New Caney, Rudder, and Livingston, coming out on top with a perfect 3-0 record!
Friday brought us back to district play against Northbrook. With strong serving behind the line, the Gators came out on top with set scores of 25-11 and 25-21, earning a clean two-set victory and moving to 3-1 in district play!
Back to tournament play on Day 2, the Gators faced Willis and split the first two sets. With a lot of back-and-forth play, Maggie Calvert and Paige McCullough stepped up offensively with some big kills, while Leah Romo and Aliyah Acosta continued holding down the back row. Willis was able to pull ahead in the third set and take the match. In our final match of the tournament, the Gators faced Huntsville. After two hard-fought sets, 22-25 and 20-25, the Gators came up just short.
All in all, our Freshman Gators played PHENOMENAL this weekend, finishing 3rd in the Huntsville Freshman Tournament with a 3-2 record! ??What a great way to wrap up tournament season! We are proud of the growth, fight, and teamwork this group showed throughout the weekend.
