9/29 VARSITY VOLLEYBALL VS SPRING WOODS

A great finish to round 1 of district for our Varsity Gators as we traveled to Spring Woods and took care of business against the Tigers, earning a 3-0 victory, 25-14, 25-15, and 25-21!

The first set started with both teams swapping points and battling through the opening rallies. The Gators began to separate themselves when Khloe Lilly stepped behind the service line and took care of business, putting pressure on the Tigers with aggressive serves and forcing opportunities for our hitters to capitalize. Offensively, our hitters came alive with 14 kills in the first set, helping the Gators take control and close it out 25-14.

Spring Woods came out scrappy in the second set, but our Gators continued to make plays on both sides of the net. The back row refused to let the ball drop, with Addison Wilcox and Addisyn Nash making big plays to keep rallies alive and give our hitters opportunities to respond. The Gators continued to execute and finished the second set 25-15.

The third set was a true battle. The Tigers fought hard and built a 21-17 lead, but our Gators never backed down. After a smooth side-out, Rylie Scimio stepped behind the service line and helped lead the Gators all the way back. Khloe Lilly delivered a great cross-court shot, followed by Alexandra Scimio with a solo block to bring the Gators back into the fight. Rylie then finished the match with an ace from the service line to complete the comeback and seal the 25-21 victory!

The Gators showed grit, composure, and relentless effort throughout the entire match. When the Tigers pushed back, our team answered together and continued to find ways to make plays.

With the victory, the Gators finish the first round of district play 6-0 and sitting in first place! What a way to close out Round 1!

Round 2 starts this Friday as we travel to Kingwood Park to take on the Panthers. Come out and support your Gators!
