10/2 FRESHMAN VB VS KPARK

Our Gators traveled to Kingwood Park to open the second round of district play and battled the Panthers through three competitive sets, ultimately coming up short, 25-23, 16-25, and 18-25.

The Gators came out strong in the first set, battling point-for-point and finding ways to execute when it mattered most. Throughout the match, there were moments of great chemistry on the court as our athletes trusted each other, played their roles, and worked together to keep the offense moving. While we weren't able to finish the match with the result we wanted, there were plenty of moments that showed what this group is capable of.

Offensively, the Gators finished with 18 kills across the three sets, with Ellie Montoya and Abigail Dietz leading the way with 5 kills each. Our back row battled all night long, keeping rallies alive and giving our team opportunities to fight for the next point. The Gators finished with 44 digs, led by Leah Romo with an impressive 20 digs!

Although the result wasn't what we wanted, this group showed fight, effort, and resilience from the first serve to the final point. Every match is another opportunity to grow, learn, and get better—and our Freshman Gators will continue to do just that.

Next up, the Freshman Gators return to The Swamp next Tuesday to take on the Splendora Wildcats!
