The West Fork Gators freshman green football team continued its outstanding start to the 2026 season Thursday night, October 15th, delivering a dominant all-around performance in a convincing 42-0 victory over the Splendora Wildcats.

From the opening kickoff to the final whistle, the Gators controlled the contest on all three phases of the game, showcasing their strength on offense, defense, and special teams. West Fork's complete team effort proved to be too much for the Wildcats to handle, as the Gators continued to build momentum and solidify their position as one of the top teams in the district.

The Gators' offense once again found success on the ground, putting together an impressive scoring performance led by Kyrique Lawrence, who powered his way into the end zone three times on rushing touchdowns. Jonathan Martinez added a rushing touchdown of his own, while Carzell Kelley and Edward Guevara also found the end zone on the ground. The balanced rushing attack allowed West Fork to consistently move the football, control the pace of the game, and put pressure on the Splendora defense throughout the night.

While the offense supplied plenty of firepower, the Gators' defense delivered an equally impressive performance, shutting out the Wildcats and keeping them off the scoreboard for all four quarters. Playing with tremendous effort, intensity, and determination, West Fork's defense made life difficult for Splendora, limiting its opportunities and refusing to give the Wildcats any room to gain momentum.

One of the defensive highlights came from Geraldo Hernandez, who recovered two fumbles at key moments in the contest. Those crucial takeaways helped the Gators maintain control of the game and demonstrated the team's ability to capitalize on opportunities when they mattered most. The defensive unit's relentless effort, combined with strong execution across the field, secured a dominant shutout victory.

West Fork's success in all three phases of the game showcased the depth, discipline, and teamwork that have fueled the Gators' impressive season. With the offense finding the end zone six times, the defense recording a shutout, and special teams contributing to the overall team effort, the Gators left little doubt about their dominance on Thursday night. It was a complete team victory that highlighted the hard work and commitment of every player on the roster.

The 42-0 victory improves West Fork to a strong 6-0 record on the season, keeping the Gators' unbeaten run alive as they continue their push through district play. With confidence building and momentum on their side, West Fork will look to carry its winning ways into another road matchup next week.
