10/16 FRESHMAN VB VS PORTER

Freshman Gators Take Down Porter!

The energy was high and the intensity was REAL as our Freshman Gators took on the Spartans at Porter on for our Homecoming night! The Gators battled through three sets to bring home the win, 25-15, 23-25, 25-14!

The Gators came out strong in set one, applying pressure from behind the service line and capitalizing on Spartan mistakes. Set two brought a fight as Porter came alive with scrappy plays and took the set from the Gators. But our Gators responded in set three, turning up the intensity! Leah Romo came up with some CRAZY saves in the back row, while Maggie Calvert and Paige McCullough executed offensively to help seal the win!

The Gators finished with 16 kills, led by Maggie Calvert with 6, and an incredible 63 total digs, with Leah Romo leading the way with 21! Our aggressive serving game was a HUGE factor, recording 14 aces, led by Leah Romo and Abigail Dietz, and keeping the Spartans out of system throughout the match.

With this win, our Freshman Gators hold a record with an 8-3 in district! We will wrap up the season next Friday against Spring Woods as we celebrate Parent Night!
Let's finish strong, Gators!
