The West Fork Gators Green Team earned a hard-fought 36–27 victory Wednesday night over the Montgomery Bears in a game full of momentum swings, big plays, and gritty performances on both sides of the ball.
The defining moment came midway through the second half when senior Kaleb Jenkins turned the tide with a spectacular special teams play. After Montgomery scored to pull within striking distance, Jenkins broke through the line to block the PAT, and the ball bounced perfectly into the hands of a Gator defender, who raced the length of the field for two points the other way. The rare swing play electrified the West Fork sideline and gave the Gators all the momentum they needed down the stretch.
Offensively, the Gators’ ground game was relentless all night. Kaden Ferguson and Jayden Monge pounded the ball on the ground, wearing down the Bears’ defense. Quarterback Jackson Byargeon made the most of one of those moments, hitting Raymond Thompson in stride, and he wiggled outside for a beautiful 45-yard touchdown pass.
Defensively, West Fork showed toughness when it mattered most. After the Bears threatened late, the Gator defense stood tall, coming up with a crucial fourth-quarter stop to preserve the lead and seal the victory.

The West Fork Gator Silver Team left it all on the field Wednesday night, coming up just short in a 14–12 nail-biter that was decided on a late two-point conversion attempt.
The Gators fought from start to finish, showing determination and heart on both sides of the ball. Rafael Barba turned in an outstanding performance, leading the offense at quarterback while also making key plays on defense at safety, keeping the team in the game throughout.
Late in the fourth quarter, Aliseo Martinez electrified the crowd with a kickoff return touchdown, cutting the deficit to two and giving West Fork a chance to tie it up. The Gators lined up for the potential game-tying two-point try, but the Bears’ defense held firm to secure the narrow win.
